Greek mountain herbal tea
Traditional herbal tea with the leaves, flowers and stems of a Greek plant called Sideris (Sideritis scardica) . Greek mountain tea, or crapaudine, is still harvested wild today in the Mediterranean regions of Europe, it is left to dry in the sun in small bunches.
Preparation: Lightly boil the whole plant in a small saucepan. It is usually drunk in winter but can be drunk cold in summer with ice cubes. It is served with a little Greek honey and possibly a few drops of lemon.
Remarks
Traditionally, Greek mountain tea is consumed for the sweetness of its aromatic and spicy taste and for its beneficial properties. This herbal tea is enjoyed with honey or as a cold drink .
